Summer is coming and we have some great ideas on how to beat the summer blues!
Summer may not seem like a time to plan and schedule but at the same time there are so many fun things to do that unless a plan is made, we end up missing a lot of things we wanted to do!
- Celebrate with the Calgary Farmers Market on June 28 as they turn 10 this year!
- Pack a picnic and take a walk through Reader Rock Garden.
- Take in the activities happening during the Stampede at the Fluor Rope Square.
- Rainy Day? Head inside to the Devonian Botanical Gardens and enjoy the plants, park and serenity of the new look.
- Get your bike out and enjoy some of the many bike trails around Calgary.
- Soak up all the excitement of teh Calgary Stampede and attend some pancake breakfasts.
- Explore Fish Creek Park , but first make this fun Toilet Paper Binocular craft.
- Layer on the sunscreen and head out to one of the many splash parks in Calgary.
- Head just outside the city and enjoy the lake in Chestermere.
- Visit a local farm such as Kayben Farms, Saskatoon Farm, Butterfield Acres
- Enjoy an afternoon ice cream at a local ice cream shoppe.
- Rent a canoe from the Calgary Canoe Club and head out onto the Glenmore Reservoir.
- Make this great 'No Mess Mud' for a fun afternoon of sensory play.
- Take in the fireworks and festivities on July 01.
- Pack up the camping gear and head out for a weekend of fresh air. Full list of surrounding campgrounds can be found HERE
