Canada Day is just around the corner and we have a great list of family friendly activities and where to catch the fireworks in and around Calgary.
Calgary Family Events:
1. Join the living flag happening at Riverfront Avenue (between 1st Street SE and Macleod Trail SE). First 3000 people will receive a t-shirt and be part of the living flag and activities. Event takes place from 4-6pm. Full details HERE
2. Olympic Plaza is host to some family friendly games and activities form 11-4pm. More details HERE
3. Start your day with a pancake breakfast at Fort Calgary. Outdoor events while indoor admission is 50% off! Check out the full list of activities HERE
4. The East Village is hosting a huge market complete with a Kids Zone tent with games and activities. More info HERE
Surrounding Calgary Area Events:
Okotoks is hosting a Multi-Cultural Canada Day celebration complete with food sampling, bounce castles, games and entertainment for the kids! This is a family favorite of ours to head down there! Check out the link HERE for more information.
Cochrane is hosting a family friendly concert in the park so grab your lawn chair and head out. Tickets are $10 while kids under 12 are FREE! Full details HERE
Airdrie is hosting a Canada Day parade, head out early to stake your spot and enjoy! Full details with location HERE
FIREWORKS In and around Calgary:
Calgary: Enjoy the fireworks being set off on the Centre Street Bridge at approx. 1045pm courtesy of Hudson's Bay. Head down anywhere along the river on Memorial Drive West to catch a great view!
Heritage Park is celebrating it's 50th Birthday to coincide with Canada Day and they will have fireworks at both 8pm and 11pm. More details HERE
Okotoks: Head down to the Seaman Stadium to catch the Okotoks Dawgs in a baseball game followed immediately with a spectacular fireworks show.
Cochrane: After enjoying the family concert in the park as mentioned above there will be a fireworks show all at Mitford Park
Airdrie: Enjoy a family dance and stay for the fireworks at the East Lake Park, fireworks start at approx 1045pm.
