Mandala Art Centre was born out of the need for a variety of recreational activities in the North East of Calgary for people of all ages and abilities. Mandala Art Centre aims to be a centre for the arts where people can come and take a wide variety of classes in their own neighbourhood – no more having to drive outside of the community to take an art or a yoga class. Within the studio experience, people have their choice of preferred art mediums – visual arts, arts and crafts and/or yoga/dance/movement. Each studio is run by an expert in the discipline who truly knows how to work with individuals to create a successful and meaningful experience.

At Mandala Art Centre, we believe that creativity is the key to effective and comprehensive learning. Young children, particularly those between the ages of 3-5 years, are very inquisitive and have such a strong desire to learn and to explore their environment. As educators, it is our job to find the pathways that work best with each child to make their learning experience as inviting and motivating as possible. In researching the different types of teaching and learning styles, the arts and play, appear time and time again as the most successful way to create lifelong and engaged learners. Mandala Art Centre has developed an arts based curriculum rooted in the idea that children learn through play and by having the opportunity to experience life first-hand. In our program children have the opportunity to use visual arts, movement/dance, music and drama as their learning tools.
The Mandala Art Centre Preschool Program is an arts based preschool experience for children ages 3-5 yrs. During our program children will have the opportunity to engage in art, music, movement, dance, yoga and so much more. Our preschool will take place within two of our studios in our Art Centre. The Marseilles Art room will be used for the academic centres and art activities. The LuLu Movement Studio, will be used for the more active learning centres and for movement, yoga and dance.
Ages & Hours
- Children age 3 are welcome to join the class two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays),
- children age 4 can come three days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) or 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).
- Children age 5 are welcome to come three or five days a week.
- Our sessions will run for 2 hours, in the mornings from 8:30-10:30, midday 11:00-1:00 or in the afternoons from 1:30-3:30. We would like to keep our enrollment small and will accept up to 12 kids per class.
Fees for our Preschool Program:
- Registration fee is $25 and is non refundable
- Program for 2 half days is $130.00 per month
- Program for 3 half days is $185.00 per month
- Program for 5 half days is $295.00 per month
- Clean up fee* is $75 and is to be post dated for June 1, 2015. We will have two classroom clean up days. Commitment to one of these clean up days is required from every family. The $75 June 1, 2015 postdated cheque will only be cashed if the commitment is not fulfilled.
