Join us for a 6 week program as we learn about pre and post workout nutrition, try 4-5 different fitness classes as a group, all the while earning entries into winning a CASH JACKPOT based on participation.

Our Fit Mama Fall Challenge is brought to you by Team In Training in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
"Mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC): Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
LLSC is a voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLSC funds lifesaving blood cancer research across Canada and provides free information and support services."
Week #1, Kickoff:
We are joined by Anastasia from A Healthy Journey as she talks about pre and post workout nutrition as well as her '21 day Kick the Sugar to the Curb' cleanse.
"Anastasia is a holistic nutritionist and family wellness mentor who specializes in sustainable family nutrition transformations. She works with health conscious moms who want to feed their families healthy food but are overwhelmed with all the conflicting nutrition advice available.
What makes her stand apart from other nutritionists is that she educates and mentors moms to make the best nutrition decisions to nourish their families because of this moms feel confident in the grocery store, kitchen and at meal time."
This is our first fitness class with Lindsay and Leesa from Hot Mama Health and Fitness and we are headed to boot camp! Located in both Northwest and Southeast Calgary we are meeting in the middle for a 'Just the Gals' boot camp class.
"Okay ladies, it’s time to put your needs and your fitness at the top of your priority list, even if it’s only for one hour a week. That’s right, it’s time to focus on yourself! So, come on out and experience a Hot Mama workout all on your own. No men, no babies, no toddlers, no dogs, no “to-do” list…leave it all behind. We are heading out to the pathways and getting our run on with Team In Training. No matter what your run skill you are welcome to join us as we walk/run around Eau Claire/Princes Island.
This week we are heading to The Dailey Method for a barre class with Dori! Time to work our core with a ballet barre focused class.
"The Dailey Method® Barre Studio – Calgary is a unique combination of ballet barre work, core conditioning, muscle strengthening, yoga, and orthopedic exercises. Dorina Montgomery fell in love with the Dailey Method in Vancouver when she regularly practiced the method in Canada’s first Dailey Method studio. After her very first class, she knew that this is and will always be her favorite workout, which she is now excited to share with Calgary! Anticipated to open early August 2013, our barre studio will feature a spacious exercise room, convenient class times, shower/locker room facilities, child-minding and free underground parking behind the studio."
This week we are headed to Soul Spin Studio to get on the bike for a low impact but high energy spin class! Whether you are a beginner rider or experienced you are encouraged to join us.
"Get Fit! Have Fun! Expect to get ADDICTED! Control your own resistance and your workout! We all burn calories at different rates. It also depends on the class and the level of resistance you set on your bike. Research indicates that on average, 50 minute spin classes can burn between 450 – 600 calories."
Time to get our dance moves happening with Pamela from Sparkle Fitness for a fun high energy Zumba class!
"I love teaching Zumba classes .Zumba is my therapy!! It's my escape from my busy life where i am not the mum, wife, cleaner or care taker. I am 'ME'! Every class feels like a party! Week #7, Wrap Up
Congratulations! We made it through 4 fitness classes as a group and now is the time to celebrate and choose our winners!
