Looking to get out and explore some great campgrounds with the family? Check out our top picks for camping around Calgary.

There are so many beautiful campgrounds in Alberta but we have compiled a list of a few of our favorite family friendly ones around Calgary.

Kinbrook Island Provincial Park

"In my top 3 list for sure!!! Easy sites to get into, grass in between each site for kids and adults to set up games and play, fantastic beach and super close to the sites. They have a great walking trail, can bike as well with a man made wooden look out half way to stop for a break. Ice cream /food shop on the beach, Super friendly staff, BBQ pits on the grass area by the beach. Who needs an alarm clock when there are birds to wake you up ( for real). LOL. You just get that relaxed feeling when you get there, not sure how to better explain it " ~ Maxine D

Mount Kidd – Kananaskis

"This is one of my personal favorites for scenery, located at the base of a mountain the views are amazing wherever you are  in the campground. Tons of hiking, biking trails around and if you are lucky you can catch parks and rec doing controlled avalanches in early spring way up top of the mountains" ~ Erica
